Calcium is one of the most important trace elements; it plays a major role in the biochemical processes of the plant: it participates in carbohydrate transport, makes cell walls stronger, and also regulates water balance. Its deficiency leads to deformation of plant cells.

Magnesium is involved in respiration, is contained in chlorophyll, is used in protein synthesis and activates enzyme systems. Its deficiency leads to impaired photosynthesis, leaf die-off, reduced yield and fruit quality, increased sensitivity to stress and disruption of energy metabolism in plants.

If you use highly purified water (reverse osmosis), this additive is vital for your plants.

Dosage

• For prevention of calcium and magnesium deficiency (if you have osmotic or very soft water): 0.5–1 ml per liter of water for coconut coir and hydroponics, 0.3–0.8 ml per liter of water for soil with every watering.
• For signs of calcium and magnesium deficiency (leaf burn, rot, faded leaves): 0.5–1.4 ml per liter of water for coconut coir and hydroponics, 0.3–1.2 ml per liter of water for soil with every watering. For more details, see the application charts.
